Beaverhead National Forest Campgrounds




The Beaverhead National Forest in Montana is abundant with forest service campgrounds of all sizes.  You're sure to find one that will suit you. 



The Beaverhead National Forest is located in Southwest Montana and with the Deerlodge National Forest, it is the largest national forest in Montana. There are 2 wilderness areas in this forest - Anaconda/Pintler Wilderness and the Lee Metcalf Wilderness. There are many opportunities for hiking in this Forest and a good number of high mountain lakes. The Continental Divide National Scenic Trail goes through this forest, as does the Nez Perce Historic Trail. The Beaverhead National Forest consists of 3.5 million acres and offers breath-taking scenery.

  • Flint Creek Campground - 7.5 miles south of Phillipsburg - 16 sites - no charge - in trees along Flint Creek
  • Lodgepole Campground - 11 miles south of Phillipsburg - 31 sites - fee area - across highway from Georgetown Lake
  • Orofino Campground - 13 miles southeast of Deer Lodge - 10 sites - no charge - in tall pine trees, rough road
  • Phillipsburg Bay Campground - 11 miles south of Phillipsburg - 69 sites - fee area - in heavy trees on Georgetown Lake
  • Piney Campground - 13 miles south of Phillipsburg - 48 sites - fee area - on the shores of Georgetown Lake
  • Racetrack Campground - 24 miles south of Deer Lodge - 13 sites - fee area - in tall fir trees on Racetrack Creek
  • Spillway Campground - 18 miles southwest of Phillipsburg - 13 sites - no charge - in tall pines along the shores of East Fork Reservoir
  • Spring Hill Campground - 11 miles west of Anaconda - 15 sites - fee area - pleasant wooded sites
  • Stony Campground - 19 miles west of Phillipsburg - 10 sites - no charge - on Stony Creek, close to Rock Creek
