Reviews of the Best Charcoal Grills under $50:

Smokey Joe Gold Grill

Smokey Joe Silver Grill

Smokey Joe Grills cook like the big guys and are the most popular charcoal grills sold today for camping and other outdoor activities.

  • High quality materials and construction
  • Outstanding performance
  • Easy to use - pack up and carry - clean
  • Fused porcelain coating on steel
  • 2 grates - 1 for charcoal and 1 to cook on
  • 14.5 inch diameter - table top grill
  • Cooks 4 steaks at one time
  • Handle stays cool
  • High lid
  • 2 vents - top and bottom or top and side

Smokey Joe silver and gold grills are basically the same except for a few features:

The gold grill has a locking lid for transporting, but you can just put a bungee cord on the silver one for transporting.

The vents are on the top and the bottom sides of the gold grill, so it might not burn quite as hot as the silver one, but the ashes don't fall out the bottom.  However, the silver one has a pan to catch ashes.

The Smokey Joe Gold grill costs about $5 more than the silver one.  Either one of these should qualify for best charcoal grills.
