Montana Campgrounds Kootenai National Forest

Grave Creek Campground is located in the Fortine Ranger District of the Kootenai National Forest, which is in Northwestern Montana.

This campground is a gateway to the Ten Lakes Scenic Area - a wilderness of spectacular beauty right next to Canada.

The area around this campground is heavily forested and very scenic - this is a gorgeous campground, but it is small.

 

 

 

About the Campsites:

 

Grave Creek Campground has 4 campsites and offers the basics - picnic tables, campfire rings with grates, vault toilets, but no water.

 

There is no fee for this campground - one of the best kept secrets for Montana Campgrounds.

 

Of course, there are no hookups either - but if you can handle that, this is a gorgeous campground.

 

Campsites at this campground cannot be reserved - they are first come, first served.

 

The campsites are small - the maximum recommended trailer length is 20 feet.

 


 

 

About the Campground:

 

Grave Creek Campground has only 4 campsites, but they are gorgeous, however they are small and the recommended maximum length for a trailer is 20 feet.

 

The campground elevation if 3000 feet and is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

 

Pets are allowed here, but they must be on a leash.

 

This is a great campground for tents or small campers, but a larger one would have a hard time manipulating.

 

 

Getting there:

 

Directions from Eureka:  Go 7 miles south on highway 93 - turn left onto forest road 114 and go 3 miles.  Turn right on Stokken Road, cross the bridge and go for .5 mile.
